Natsume Yuujinchou 10: song of silence

In Natsume Yuujinchou on September 14, 2008 at 10:37 pm

You know an anime series is special when it can give you nothing but yet you feel like you’ve gotten everything. That’s what NatsuYuu 10 has achieved.

The long stretch of anticipation of a melody was so deafening that I found myself holding my breath still and hearing the background sound of crickets and river streams drowning out under the tranquil moonlights into complete silence.

Rather or not Asagi had actually played the koto became irrelevant. Her music was heard. Not through the vibration of strings strung by five fingers, but by the mutual understanding of three hearts.

What a magical moment.

  1. I had that same feeling.
I was waiting to hear the beautiful koto play, but even though it was only silence, you could feel the emotion.
    Agree. A magical moment.

  2. Truly a beautifully, non-existent song that resonated deeply with anyone with any appreciation for this show.
